Why will I always choose Browns opticians? A few reasons…I had my eye test on Tuesday and for anyone who is concerned about Covid-19 I would say Graeme and Scott in the Bonnyrigg branch put my mind at rest. When I phoned to make the appointment Jennifer told me the shop would be locked and to wear my mask, then she emailed me a protocol to follow during the appointment. Graeme wore an apron, mask, visor and gloves. Scott also wore mask etc and whilst I could lower my mask when trying on frames he reminded me about pulling up my mask and he disinfected all the frames I tried on. I am a bit OCD about all this so it did reassure me.

Prior to Covid-19 I have broken the leg on my specs on a few occasions and Ian has successfully managed to repair them, saving me time and money. Ian’s also been good at arranging quick appointments for me when I had a few eye problems, very much appreciated.

And finally, I was going on holiday for my 50th birthday and wanted to wear contact lenses. I’d left the appointment a bit late and Graeme didn’t have enough of my prescription in stock, so he offered to collect them from one of his other shops and drop them off at Glasgow Airport as he lived nearby. I’ve always thought this was a lovely gesture and although I’ve moved 30 miles away I’ve stayed with Browns because I trust them.
