The medical name for age-related long-sightedness is presbyopia. It is not a disease but a normal part of ageing.
What are the symptoms?
- Difficulty reading small print
- Needing to squint to see clearly
- Eyes feeling tired after activities such as reading, writing or working on a computer
- Experiencing pain or burning in your eyes
- Headaches

Treatment
Presbyopia can be corrected by wearing reading glasses or contact lenses. Laser surgery is sometimes used to treat the condition, although it is not suitable for everyone.
